Partial downstairs makeover

When we were looking at houses I decided I really wanted to have a gold(ish) yellow living room and a red office. What I didn't want was mustard and ketchup walls, which is what I got. I ignored it for awhile because paint is expensive and annoying to do. When Sherwin Williams had their recent 40% off sale, I gave in. Who could pass up 40% off? Not this girl. Getting good quality paint is important I think. I wanted to paint the red room, but JT said he hated the yellow. I agreed to paint the yellow.

Here are some befores of my downstairs.

Boston Boy :)

Red office

HATE the tile around our fireplace...That is my next DIY

Gold/Yellow walls were a lot darker than I expected
Here are some afters/ re decorating. I am not sure I LOVE the beige color we went with for the living room, but at least it's neutral and I can bring whatever colors I want into the room.

The curtain pattern is beyond OLD to me, but for now, they'll have to do.

FINALLY hanging our diplomas. ROCK CHALK!

fall mantle. Did the wreath and small flower vase

The small flower vase was a really easy creation I put together. The flowers are fake from Hobby Lobby thank you 40% off coupon (which you can always print off from their website) http://www.hobbylobby.com/weekly/weekly.cfm. I want to make these in all sizes...I think it is super cute!

I can't really take anymore pictures of my downstairs because there is baby stuff EVERYWHERE! It is slowly already taking over my house. The swing will have to go away soon, I think he is at or close to the weight limit.

Onto a more important subject...The baby! Our boxer, Ahli, is so gentle and good with Zaya. She absolutely loves him. Boston on the other hand has kind of snipped at him twice. I can't leave those two alone. :(  Below is a video and a few pictures. (He is 6 months) He is saying da da da dada. I don't really count it as his first word, but maybe it's because I am in denial that he said dadda first. He is really trying to find his voice. What a fun age!

Thanks Pintrest...I love this idea. :)
