Green Smoothie

Crazy how working out makes you want to eat better...I crave a sweet treat (almost daily). I am lucky that Cami (Cami Cakes) https://www.facebook.com/#!/camiscakeco is only open from time to time :) Working hard to improve my health and fitness. Not because I want to be skinny, but because I want to be healthy and live longer. And...I still refuse to buy all new pants. lol

Isaiah turns 8 months old on 10/9 (which is also my 29th Birthday, but we won't talk about that) I am 5 pounds away from where I was before I got knocked up. :) It's totally not a weight thing for me, it's more about how I fit into my clothes and how I feel physically.

I am beyond loving my workouts at The Underground Lab. I am finally starting to feel my energy coming back. Last night, I stayed up until 11 watching The Hunger Games with JT. Those of you that know me, you know staying up past 9pm is an accomplishment. It was so nice spending time with JT cuddling watching a movie. I miss those nights and we both agree we need more time for just us. We both thought Hunger Games was all it was cracked up to be. Even though the whole 'offing' people is beyond disturbing.

This morning I made my first green smoothie. I've been on a smoothie kick for awhile, but never had the desire to add anything green to it. I finally tried it (Thanks Krissy Dye) and it was delish.

Ingredients
  • About 2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
  • Vanilla yogurt- I used Dannon Light & Fit Vanilla
  • 1 Banana
  • About 2 cups of spinach leaves
  • About 1 cup of Almond Coconut Milk -This is soy and lactose free
  • Ice

To make it more healthy you could:
  • Use natural unsalted peanut butter
  • Add Chia Seeds
Chia seeds are supposed to help control hunger while enhancing your diet with super nutrients. You can read more about chia seeds and how they are beneficial to your diet by clicking the link below.

Our Isaiah and my day started at 5...It's amazing how much work can get done before leaving for work. I figure the more I can cross of my to do list in the am and during lunch, the more I have time to spend with family after work. As parents, there is no such thing as a lunch BREAK. If I am not working out over lunch, I am at home letting dogs out and cleaning. There are no breaks...EVER :) But I would have it no other way. Luckily, my husband is wonderful and takes the helps with doggie lunch duty 1/2 of the time which is one of hundreds of reasons our marriage will last. :) He also on occasion takes Isaiah to daycare. THANKS BABE! Some pictures from this am, that I couldn't resist taking.

I am such a sucker for PJ pictures :)

Moms keep in mind the below saying. It's so true, you shouldn't have to do it all! After 29 years, I have finally realized it's ok to ask for help when you need it.

What my to do list should look like: :)

Have a wonderful week, friends!
